StorySpin – Terms & Conditions

Effective date: 2 September 2025

These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) are a contract between you and Spinverse Ltd (“Spinverse”, “we”, “us”, “our”) and govern your access to and use of the StorySpin mobile application, websites, and related services (collectively, “StorySpin” or the “Services”). By creating an account, accessing, or using StorySpin, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Services.

1) Eligibility

• You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age required by your jurisdiction) to use StorySpin.
• If you are under 18, you must have permission from a parent or legal guardian.
• You may use the Services only in compliance with these Terms and applicable laws.

2) Your account & security

• You must provide accurate information and keep it up to date.
• You are responsible for safeguarding your login and for all activity under your account.
• Notify us immediately of unauthorised access or suspected compromise.

3) User Content & licence

“User Content” includes stories, paragraphs, comments, votes, images, and any other material you submit or create on StorySpin. You retain ownership of your User Content.

You grant Spinverse a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, transferable and sublicensable licence to host, store, reproduce, adapt, modify, translate, create derivative works from, publish, publicly display, publicly perform, distribute, and otherwise use your User Content solely for: (a) operating and providing the Services (including collaborative publishing, discovery, moderation, backup, and technical delivery), (b) improving and promoting StorySpin (e.g., in-app showcases, emails, app-store listings, and marketing pages), and (c) enforcing our Terms and policies. This licence survives only for as long as your content is on StorySpin, except for reasonable technical copies/backups and where law requires longer retention.

You represent and warrant that you have all rights necessary to grant this licence and that your User Content (and our use of it as permitted by these Terms) does not infringe any third-party rights or violate law.

4) Collaborative works & attribution

StorySpin is collaborative. Stories may include contributions from multiple users. We may attribute contributions using your display name and/or a contributors list. If you delete your account, your attribution may display as “Deleted User,” and the collaborative story may remain available in line with these Terms and our Privacy Policy.

5) Community rules

To keep StorySpin safe and constructive, you agree that you will not:

• Post illegal, harassing, hateful, threatening, or sexually explicit content, or content that exploits minors.
• Post content that infringes copyright, trademarks, privacy, or other rights.
• Engage in spam, scams, phishing, impersonation, fraud, or deceptive practices.
• Exploit bugs, attempt to disrupt or overload the Service, or circumvent rate limits/security.
• Scrape, crawl, index, or harvest data from StorySpin without our written permission.
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to access source code or underlying algorithms.
• Use StorySpin for commercial advertising without our prior written consent (except to reference your own works hosted elsewhere).

6) Virtual currency & purchases

StorySpin may offer virtual currency (e.g., “Inklings”), in-app purchases, and/or subscriptions. Virtual currency is licensed, not sold; has no cash value; is non-transferable (except as permitted in-app); and may be revoked, discontinued, or adjusted at our discretion, to the extent permitted by law. Purchases are processed by the Apple App Store or Google Play; their terms and refund policies apply in addition to these Terms. We may change offerings, pricing, and availability.

7) Moderation & enforcement

We may review, refuse to distribute, remove, or restrict access to any User Content at any time if we reasonably believe it violates these Terms, our policies, or law, or to protect users or the Service. We may suspend or terminate accounts for violations, repeated infringement, suspected fraud/abuse, or to comply with legal requirements.

8) Intellectual property

StorySpin, the Spinverse name and logos, and all non-User Content (including software, design, and assets) are protected by intellectual-property laws and belong to us or our licensors. You may not use our marks without permission or remove/alter proprietary notices.

9) Copyright complaints (notice & takedown)

We respect intellectual-property rights and respond to clear notices of alleged infringement. If you believe content on StorySpin infringes your copyright, please email developer@spinverse.co.uk with:

• Your contact details and authority to act (if applicable);
• Identification of the copyrighted work and the allegedly infringing material (with URLs/screenshots);
• A statement of good-faith belief that use is not authorised; and
• Your declaration that the notice is accurate and you are the rights holder or authorised agent.

We may remove or restrict content and, where appropriate, terminate repeat infringers. We may also, as your agent, issue takedown requests to third-party hosts that mirror or scrape infringing content originating from StorySpin.

10) Ads, analytics, and recommendations

To help keep StorySpin sustainable, we may show ads and use analytics/recommendation systems. Some features rely on third-party SDKs (e.g., Firebase/AdMob). See our Privacy Policy for details and your choices. We do not guarantee any particular level of ad relevance, availability, or revenue share.

11) Third-party links & services

StorySpin may link to third-party sites or services. We do not control or endorse them and are not responsible for their content, policies, or practices. Your use of third-party services is at your own risk and subject to their terms.

12) Beta features & changes to the Service

We may test experimental or beta features that may change, break, or be withdrawn. We may alter, suspend, or discontinue parts of the Services at any time to improve performance, security, or user experience.

13) Termination

You may stop using StorySpin or request account deletion at any time (see Privacy Policy for data handling). We may suspend or terminate your access for any material breach of these Terms, unlawful activity, or where reasonably necessary to comply with law or protect users. Sections 3, 4, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 15–18 survive termination.

14) Feedback

If you send ideas, suggestions, or feedback, you grant us a perpetual, worldwide, royalty-free licence to use them without obligation to you, including without attribution or compensation.

15) Disclaimers

StorySpin is provided “as is” and “as available.” To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, availability, accuracy, non-infringement, and that the Services will be uninterrupted or error-free. You use the Services at your own risk.

16) Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Spinverse and its affiliates, officers, employees, and agents will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, revenues, data, goodwill, or business opportunities, arising out of or related to your use of the Services. Our total aggregate liability to you for all claims in any 6-month period will not exceed the greater of (a) £50 or (b) the amounts you paid to us for StorySpin in that period (if any). Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law (e.g., for fraud or personal injury caused by negligence).

17) Indemnity

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Spinverse and its affiliates, officers, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or related to your User Content, your breach of these Terms, or your unlawful use of the Services.

18) Governing law & jurisdiction

These Terms and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with them (including non-contractual disputes) are governed by the laws of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction, except where local law provides otherwise.

19) Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the updated Terms with a new effective date and, where changes are material, we may provide additional notice (e.g., in-app). Your continued use of StorySpin after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

20) Miscellaneous

• Entire agreement. These Terms (and any policies referenced, including the Privacy Policy) are the entire agreement between you and us regarding the Services.
• Severability. If any provision is found invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full force and effect.
• No waiver. Our failure to enforce any provision is not a waiver of our right to do so later.
• Assignment. You may not assign or transfer these Terms without our consent. We may assign these Terms in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
• Headings. Headings are for convenience only and do not affect interpretation.
