NOTATS – Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of NOTATS, the NOTATS mobile application, and related services (collectively, the “Service”). By accessing or using NOTATS, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. The Service
NOTATS is an AI-powered productivity and learning application designed to help users capture, convert, and organize knowledge. The Service includes:
- Scanning notes and documents using camera capture and smart enhancement.
- Converting images and PDFs into searchable digital text (OCR/handwriting transcription).
- Recording voice notes and converting speech into text.
- Generating AI-assisted outputs (e.g., summaries, structured notes, titles, tags, flashcards, quizzes).
- Providing Study Mode and AI-assisted learning tools.
- Enabling interactions with AI assistants (e.g., Nexa).
- Organizing and managing content in a structured, searchable library.
- Sharing documents and notes with compatible external applications.
2. Eligibility
By signing up for and using NOTATS, you confirm that you are legally capable of entering into a binding agreement under the laws of your jurisdiction and that you agree to comply with these Terms of Service.
NOTATS is designed as a general-purpose productivity and learning tool. We encourage parents and guardians to actively supervise and guide children when using the application, especially on shared devices or accounts. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without appropriate oversight. If you believe that a child has provided personal data without proper supervision or consent, please contact us so that appropriate action can be taken.
3. Accounts & Guest Mode
- Guest Mode: You may use NOTATS in Guest Mode, where data is stored locally on your device only. If you delete the app or lose your device, this data cannot be recovered.
- Registered Accounts: Creating an account allows access to cloud sync, multi-device usage, and persistent secure storage.
- Account Security: You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activities that occur under your account.
4. Your Content & Ownership
4.1 Ownership of Content
You retain full ownership of all content you create, upload, or generate in NOTATS (“User Content”), including scanned images, transcriptions, voice recordings, and AI-generated study materials.
4.2 Limited License
You grant Spinverse a limited, non-exclusive license to process your content only as necessary to:
- Provide scanning, transcription, AI, and study features.
- Store and synchronize your content across your devices.
- Maintain the security, reliability, and performance of the Service.
We do not claim ownership of your content.
5. AI Features (Important Disclosures)
5.1 AI Limitations
AI features (including transcription, summaries, Study Mode outputs, and AI assistant responses) are probabilistic and may:
- Be incomplete, inaccurate, or misleading.
- Contain errors or inconsistencies.
ALL AI OUTPUTS ARE PROVIDED FOR GENERAL INFORMATIONAL PURPOSES ONLY. You are solely responsible for reviewing and validating outputs before use. NOTATS must not be relied upon for medical, legal, financial, or other professional advice.
5.2 “AS IS” AI Functionality
AI features are provided “AS IS” and “AS AVAILABLE”, without guarantees of accuracy or fitness for a specific purpose.
5.3 No Training on Your Content
We do not use your private content (including notes, files, voice data, or outputs) to train public or general-purpose AI models without your explicit consent.
6. Credits, Subscriptions & Purchases
NOTATS operates on a credit-based system for AI processing and advanced features.
- Credits may be obtained through subscriptions, one-time in-app purchases, or rewarded ads (where available).
- Credits are consumed when using AI-powered features. Your credit balance can be viewed within your dashboard.
Important Conditions:
- Credits are non-transferable and non-refundable, except where required by law.
- If you delete your account or uninstall the app without account recovery enabled, all remaining credits will be permanently lost.
- All purchases are processed via authorized digital platforms (e.g., Apple App Store, Google Play Store), and you must follow their respective billing terms.
7. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Upload or process illegal, highly sensitive, or unauthorized content.
- Violate intellectual property, privacy, or confidentiality rights.
- Use the Service for harmful, abusive, or deceptive purposes.
- Attempt to hack, disrupt, reverse engineer, or exploit the platform.
- Abuse credits, ad rewards, or monetization systems.
- Automate access in a way that overloads or harms the Service.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts for misuse.
8. Copyright & DMCA Policy
NOTATS respects intellectual property rights. If you believe that any content processed or shared via the Service infringes your copyright, please send a written notice to developer@spinverse.co.uk containing:
- A physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner or authorized representative.
- Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to have been infringed.
- Identification of the infringing material and its location.
- Your contact information.
- A statement that you have a good faith belief that the use of the material is not authorized.
- A statement that the information in the notification is accurate, and under penalty of perjury, that you are authorized to act on behalf of the copyright owner.
We may remove or disable access to infringing content. Repeat violations may lead to account suspension or termination.
9. Privacy
Your use of NOTATS is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains how your data is collected, used, and protected.
10. Account Deletion & Data Removal
If you would like to delete your NOTATS account and all associated data, you can do so directly within the application.
How to Delete Your Account (In-App Method)
To permanently delete your account:
- Open NOTATS
- Navigate to Settings
- Select Delete Account
- Review the confirmation message displayed on your screen
- Tap Delete Forever
- Confirm your action (you may be asked to re-authenticate)
Once confirmed, the system will proceed with securely removing your data. You may briefly see a status message such as:
“Wiping data and deleting account…”
Important: Permanent Deletion
Deleting your account will permanently and irreversibly remove:
- Your account profile and login details
- All scanned notes, documents, PDFs, and folders
- Transcriptions and AI-generated outputs
- Voice recordings and study materials
- Drafts and saved content
- Your entire credit balance
This action cannot be undone. Once deletion is completed, your data cannot be recovered.

11. Suspension & Termination
You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if:
- You violate these Terms.
- Required by law or regulatory obligations.
- Necessary to protect users, systems, or service integrity.
12. Disclaimers
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW:
- THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE”.
- WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED.
- WE DO NOT GUARANTEE THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE ERROR-FREE, UNINTERRUPTED, OR COMPLETELY SECURE.
13. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW:
- SPINVERSE IS NOT LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES.
- TOTAL LIABILITY WILL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID (IF ANY) TO US IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.
You are solely responsible for how you use AI-generated outputs.
14. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold Spinverse harmless from any claims, damages, or legal fees resulting from your User Content, your misuse of the Service, or your violation of these Terms or applicable laws.
15. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms periodically. Continued use of the Service after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
16. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales, without regard to its conflict of law principles. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in London, United Kingdom.
