NOTATS (“NOTATS”, “we”, “us”) is a mobile application provided by Spinverse Ltd (“Company”). NOTATS helps you capture, transform, and organize your knowledge with ease. It allows you to scan physical notes using smart edge detection, transcribe handwritten content into digital text using advanced AI, and store everything in a structured, searchable library.

In addition, NOTATS enables you to record voice notes and convert speech into text. With built-in tools such as Study Mode, users can enhance their learning experience through intelligent features designed to support revision, understanding, and productivity. The app also offers seamless document import, a draft workspace, and a credit-based AI processing system, giving users full control over their content.

We are committed to protecting your privacy and handling personal data responsibly. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

Spinverse Ltd acts as the data controller, meaning we are responsible for how your personal data is collected, used, and protected when you use NOTATS.

2. What This Policy Covers

This policy applies to:

• The NOTATS mobile app (iOS and Android).
• Our official website pages that link directly to this policy.
• Any communications or support services provided by NOTATS and Spinverse Ltd.

It does not cover third-party websites or services you may access through the app (e.g., app stores).

3. Information We Collect

3.1 Account & Identity Data

When you create an account in NOTATS, we collect basic information depending on your chosen sign-in method (Email, Google, or Apple):

• Name (if provided by your identity provider)
• Email address
• Account identifiers (internal user ID)

Guest mode: You may use NOTATS without creating an account. In this case, your data (such as scanned notes, voice recordings, and drafts) is stored locally on your device only. Please note that if you uninstall the app or lose your device before creating an account, this data cannot be recovered.

3.2 Your Content (User Content)

To provide its core features, NOTATS processes the content that you create, upload, or generate within the app, which may include:

• Images captured using the camera (e.g., handwritten notes, documents, whiteboards).
• Images or files imported from your device (e.g., PDFs).
• Extracted text generated through OCR or handwriting transcription.
• Voice recordings and their corresponding speech-to-text conversions.
• AI-generated outputs such as summaries, flashcards, or quizzes.
• Drafts and saved items stored in your library.

Important: We treat all User Content as private and implement appropriate safeguards to protect it. We do not access or process your content beyond what is necessary to deliver the features you request.

3.3 Usage & Diagnostics Data

To operate, maintain, and improve NOTATS, we may collect limited technical and usage data, including:

• App interactions (e.g., features used, navigation behavior).
• Crash and error diagnostics (to detect and fix bugs).
• Device information (e.g., device model, operating system version).

This information is collected in a non-personal and non-identifiable manner wherever possible. We do not use this data, nor your personal content, to train public or general-purpose AI models.

3.4 Purchases, Credits & Ads

NOTATS operates on a credit-based system as part of its subscription and AI processing model.

Credits & Subscriptions: Your credit balance and usage are tracked within the app. Purchases are processed securely through authorized digital distribution platforms (Apple App Store, Google Play Store). NOTATS does not receive or store your full payment card details.

Rewarded Ads: Users may choose to earn additional credits by engaging with rewarded advertisements. This involves limited ad-related events such as reward eligibility and ad interactions.

Important Notice: Credits are non-transferable and non-refundable. If you delete your account or uninstall the application without linking your data to an account, remaining credits will be permanently lost.

4. App Permissions

NOTATS requests permissions only when necessary to provide its core features:

• Camera: To scan notes and documents using smart edge detection.
• Photos / Media Library: To import images and PDFs for digitization.
• Microphone: To record voice notes and interact with the AI Voice Tutor.
• Internet Access: To enable cloud synchronization, AI processing, and intelligent features.
• Notifications (optional): To inform you about completed background processing tasks and folder collaboration invites.

You can manage or revoke these permissions at any time through your device settings.

5. How We Use Your Information

We use your information strictly to operate, improve, and deliver the NOTATS experience:

• Provide Core Features: Enable scanning, OCR, voice-to-text, and library organization.
• Deliver AI-Powered Services: Process content for transcriptions, summaries, and Study Mode features.
• Enable Synchronization: Sync your notes across devices when cloud features are enabled.
• Ensure Security: Prevent unauthorized access and maintain system reliability.
• Provide Customer Support: Assist with technical issues.
• Improve the Application: Analyze performance and fix bugs.
• Manage Subscriptions: Administer the credit-based system and optional rewarded ads.

6. AI Processing & Data Protection Commitments

6.1 Service Delivery

When you use AI-powered features, your content may be securely transmitted for processing to our trusted third-party cloud and AI service providers (e.g., Google Cloud).

6.2 No Training on Your Data

We respect your privacy and ownership of your content. We do not use your private content to train public or general-purpose AI models. Your data remains under your control.

6.3 AI Output Disclaimer

AI-generated outputs may not always be accurate, complete, or error-free. NOTATS is designed as a productivity tool and should not be relied upon as a source of professional, legal, medical, or financial advice.

7. How We Store and Protect Data

7.1 Storage

Local Storage: Your device may store content locally to allow offline access, especially in Guest mode.

Cloud Storage: When you create an account and activate synchronization, your notes and metadata are securely stored in our cloud environment to allow seamless access across devices.

7.2 Security Measures

We implement industry-standard security practices, including:

• Encryption in transit: All data transmitted is protected using secure protocols (HTTPS/TLS).
• Secure processing environments: Data is handled within controlled and secure infrastructures.
• Access control mechanisms: Strict authentication measures are enforced to protect your account.

While we implement strong safeguards, no digital system can guarantee absolute security.

8. When We Share Data (and when we don’t)

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data to third parties for marketing or commercial purposes.

We share limited data with carefully selected third-party service providers who support the operation of NOTATS:

• Firebase (Google): For secure user authentication, cloud database storage, file storage, and crash reporting.
• Google Cloud & ML Kit: For AI processing, document scanning, and text extraction.
• RevenueCat: To securely process and manage in-app subscriptions and credit balances.
• Appodeal: To display rewarded video advertisements when you choose to watch an ad in exchange for free Credits.

All such providers are contractually required to process data securely and maintain strict confidentiality.

9. Data Retention & Limits

We retain your data only for as long as necessary to provide core services, maintain security, and comply with legal obligations.

NOTATS operates with defined limits based on your usage. Your library may support up to approximately 200 processed extracts/items on the free tier. To increase capacity, you may purchase a subscription or delete existing content.

You can delete your content at any time directly within the app.

10. Your Rights & Choices

Depending on your location (such as under the GDPR in Europe or the CCPA in California), you may have the right to:

• Access, review, or correct your personal data.
• Delete your data or request account removal.
• Request export of your data.
• Withdraw consent for certain processing activities.

11. Account & Data Deletion

You have full control over your data. You can delete individual notes or your entire account through the app settings (Settings > Delete Account).

Important: Permanent Deletion

• Deleting your account will permanently remove all associated data from our servers, including notes, PDFs, transcriptions, and voice recordings.
• All remaining credits will be permanently lost.
• Once deletion is completed, data cannot be recovered.

12. Children’s Privacy

NOTATS is designed as a general-purpose productivity and learning tool. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without appropriate parental oversight. If you believe that a child has provided personal data without proper supervision, please contact us immediately so we can remove the data.

13. International Transfers

If you use the application outside the country where our systems or service providers are located, your data may be transferred and processed internationally. We implement appropriate safeguards in line with applicable data protection laws to ensure your data remains protected.

14. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically to reflect changes in our services or legal requirements. When updates are made, the “Last updated” date will be revised.
