Welcome to Interrupt. We are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring a safe, positive global community. This policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information, as well as the strict safety rules governing our community features.
1. Information We Collect
To provide the Interrupt experience and maintain a free service, we collect the following types of information:
- Account & Identity Data: You may begin using Interrupt as an anonymous guest. If you choose to save your "Presence Map" and history, you can link your account via Apple or Google. We store the authentication tokens provided by these services, but we do not extract your personal contacts or unnecessary profile data.
- User-Generated Content (Moments): When you complete a daily challenge, you have the option to share a "Moment" (photo or text). We collect and store this content to display it in the Global Gallery.
- Community Interactions: We track your app activity, including your challenge completion status, the "Echoes" you leave on other users' Moments, and your total impact stats.
- Device & Notification Data: We collect push notification tokens to deliver automated reminders and real-time Echo alerts.
- Advertising & Analytics Data: To support the app, we collect specific device data, including Device Identifiers (such as Android Advertising ID or Apple IDFA), Approximate Location (derived via IP address to serve relevant regional ads), and App Interaction/Diagnostic logs (to measure ad performance and app stability).
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your data strictly to operate the platform and keep it accessible:
- To synchronize and deliver the global daily challenges.
- To populate the Global Gallery and personal History/Stats screens.
- Challenge Curation: Our daily challenges are manually curated, reviewed, and scheduled by our administrative team to ensure the highest level of quality and safety.
- Monetization & Advertising: We use device identifiers and approximate location data to serve both personalized and non-personalized advertisements, measure ad engagement, and ensure the app remains free to play.
3. Strict User-Generated Content (UGC) & Safety Policy
Interrupt is designed to be a safe, positive space. To protect our users and comply with App Store and Google Play guidelines, we strictly enforce the following rules regarding User-Generated Content:
- Zero Tolerance for Objectionable Content: We strictly prohibit content that promotes, encourages, or depicts self-harm, suicide, eating disorders, or dangerous activities. Furthermore, hate speech, bullying, harassment, explicit/sexual content, and illegal activities are strictly banned.
- Automated Safety Checks: Every Moment uploaded to the Global Gallery is automatically processed through Google Vision and Natural Language APIs to detect and block inappropriate imagery or text before it reaches the community.
- In-App Reporting & Blocking: If a user bypasses our automated filters, you can immediately flag any Moment or block any user directly within the app's story-style viewer.
- 24-Hour Action Commitment: Our moderation team will review all user reports within 24 hours. Users found violating these safety guidelines will have their content removed and their device/account permanently banned from the Interrupt community.
By sharing a Moment on Interrupt, you explicitly agree to these terms.
4. Third-Party Services
We utilize trusted third-party services to keep Interrupt fast, secure, and free:
- Google Cloud / Firebase: For database hosting, infinite scrolling optimization, secure user authentication, and crash reporting.
- Google Vision / Cloud Natural Language: For automated safety moderation of uploaded photos and text.
- Appodeal (Ad Mediation): We use Appodeal to serve advertisements. Appodeal shares your device data with their network of demand partners (such as AdMob, Meta, and UnityAds) to provide relevant ads. You can review their data handling practices at Appodeal's Privacy Policy.
5. Your Choices & Data Rights
- Consent & Ad Tracking Opt-Out: Depending on your region (e.g., EU/UK or California), you will be presented with a Consent Management prompt upon opening the app to choose your ad tracking preferences. You can revoke this consent or limit ad tracking at any time through your device's system privacy settings.
- Muting & Notifications: You have complete control over your attention. You can use the persistent toggle in the app sidebar to mute Interrupt at the database level, preventing all inbound alerts.
- Data Deletion: You can request the deletion of your account, Presence Map, and all associated Moments at any time directly within the app settings or by contacting us.
